FIO 2009

The second international fair of ornithology done in Monfragüe, looks for birdwaching in the natural zones, representing to the natural tourism in full summit.

Besides Nature reserve, it is A Zone of Special Protection for the Birds (ZEPA) Zone of Special Conservation (ZEC); Place of Tourist Interest (LIC). Reserve of the Biosphere, for the UNESCO, the best awards for our better natural jewel, between many that Estremadura has.

Big birds In Monfragüe raptors are endangered: black Vultures, imperial eagle, black stork, griffon vulture, royal owl, golden eagle,... besides lynxes, otters, mongeese and deer. protected between pastures of oaks and blockheads; rockroses, heathers, trees srtawberry, junipers, alder-trees, wild olive trees ..., an extraordinary vegetable diversity; especially in his zones of shady and in the pastures. I could not be present at the FIO, though I have visited monfragüe in other occasions and the experience was interesting.
